This dragonfly was trying to get outside. He kept flying into the window, buzzing, but not getting results. I asked if I could photograph him on his way out. It was a good exit to freedom…first a few poses and then…fly… dragonfly…

Zaca Fire

Here is a photo of the smoke plumes from the Zaca Fire which, according to Don Carlos in Mammoth, the smoke and ash have traveled that far. This picture was taken at Hendry’s Beach in Santa Barbara.

Buddha bowls from the second glaze firing

Buddha bowls emerged from the kiln. They are about 3 to 4 inches in diameter.

First glaze firing out of the kiln

The latest pottery to emerge from the kiln, just this ,morning…ahhhhhh, ALCHEMY. The small bowls are about 3″ to 4″ in diameter. The buddha head is about 6″x5″ and the smokey purplish vase is about 5″. The color of the vase and the flowers from the sage were a complete surprise, as the sage just bloomed two days ago. This is not an optical illusion. Just a natural match…
